Made In Russia by Reavsey

Urban Folk-Punkist....or is it Urban Punk-Folkist...Reavsey...has recorded a version of Made In Russia...in collaboration with Pzyko2k...who had laid down the backing track, previously. Reavsey...available on all sorts of sites...just google Reavsey and he'll come up...has very much punked the song up. It was punk-ish anyway...but Reavsey has punkustomised the vocals to wonderful effect. Very much a fantastic job of the Unlucky Fried Kitten song...Made In Russia.

Star On The Radio (montage by Penny Black)

It's undoubtedly an Andy Export song...but written just a few days after Ian Dury died.
Unlucky Fried Kitten were in full swing then....by about 4 years...but this was more of a solo thing. We never made a video to it...but Penny Black, an Ian Dury fan, found it..and made this little get-up. This was another one that we stumbled upon...purely by chance. Penny has since become a bit of a friend of UFK.

I Am A Robot by Sebastiano with UFK

Here's another video made by Seba...for an Unlucky Fried Kitten song...namely...I Am A Robot. The great thing...that we like...about the way Seba does his videos...is the way he mixes external sound in with the music. Excellent.

Sebastiano does Bizarre Creature

In Italy we stumbled upon Sebastiano...a film-maker...who portrayed an interest in making a film or two of Unlucky Fried Kitten songs. here's the very intriguing video he made for "Bizarre Creature"

I Am A Robot

I Am A Robot is one of the most popular Unlucky Fried Kitten songs from the Loserville.com album. We often come across MySpace profiles that use it as their auto-player....and for that we are truly appreciative. For some reason it became quite a hit with the Skate-Boarding fraternity...particularly in the USA. "I Am A Robot" as a song title is extremely popular. Trust UFK to pick such a common title. Ha Ha.
Given it's wide-spread use..as a title...it's a surprise that we managed to stumble upon this little version. It's just some kid dancing and singing to it...with entirely the wrong words. Later..we found that he'd recruited two friends...and they'd even learned the words. They must have googled it. Unfortunately...the boy on the left (in the second vid) forgot to learn the melody. pmsl

Baby Blue by Pzyko2k

We find Pzyko2k once again...with an eerie, haunting instrumental version of "Baby Blue". Pzyko2k....or Nathan, as we have come to discover is his real name,has made an excellent version here...and it's quite a likelihood that Andy may end up recording some new songs with him. Gypsy by Bloodline

This is a great find. The person who done the mix on this has made an awesome job....mixing visual and sound with the original Martini Slutz song "Gypsy"
Martini Slutz are obviously not Unlucky Fied Kitten...but they qualify for this blog cos Andy Fraser was in the Martini Slutz before forming Death In Venice and Unlucky Fried Kitten. Martini Slutz were Andy Fraser (vocals) Pres Amin (bass) Tim Beeby (guitar) Pete Chamberlain (drums) (alun jones also played drums)

Speed Camera (Barber Shop Quartet) by UFK fans

After the Unlucky Fried Kitten gig at the Zebra Bar in Maidstone we ran into a couple of UFK fans at The HogsHead....now called the Druid's Arms. They asked to do their own unique version of the Unlucky Fried Kitten song...Speed Camera. It's a bit strange. Well done though, lads.

So...here's the Barber Shop Quartet style version of Speed Camera...an Unlucky Fried Kitten song...which even managed to give Jeremy Clarkson and the guys at Top Gear a laugh (the Unlucky Fried Kitten version,that is)

Made In Russia by Pzyko2k

Made In Russia is an Unlucky Fried Kitten song....but back in 1989 it was actually a Death In Venice song. Death In Venice featured Andy Fraser (Andy Export) on vocals, Ben Kesteven on bass, Sam Kesteven on drums (they both went on to achieve chart success with Airhead) and Chris Redmond on guitar. Dave Blosse was also an occasional guitarist.
The song "Made In Russia" was written by Andy Fraser in about 1968. He was 7 years old. As the years went by some of the words were up-dated, obviously. I mean...Anna Kournikova wasn't even around in 1968.
This version came to light when Andy stumbled upon it on the internet. It's an instrumental version.

Unlucky Fried Kitten Covers

Unlucky Fried Kitten have noticed that a few people have covered their songs...so we're putting them into a seperate blog. Why not? Unlucky Fried Kitten should be pushing up daisies now when you think how long they have been around. Since 1995, that is...when they were first actually called Unlucky Fried Kitten. One past band member has, indeed, shuffled off this mortal coil. Step forward the corpse of Mickey Apples...fated bass-player and all-round Black Sheep. His bass guitar is still in The UFK Dollshouse....in his memory.
So....over the next few posts we shall feature some of the covers of Unlucky Fried Kitten songs. Some are bad...some are good...some are not so much covers...as singalongs. We shall return
